Coloring Pages

Coloring can provide a calming effect that helps deal with stress and reconnect to a more carefree time in your life — your childhood. If you would like to try coloring — check out the coloring sheets and pencils for you to use while in the library. Materials are provided by the Friends of the Ocean Shores Library.

Story Time

Saturdays July 15, 22, 29 10– 10:40 a.m. — Books, rhymes, interactive stories, songs and FUN! Ages birth–5. Presented by Niko.

Video Game Club

Tuesday July 18 2:45-4:45 p.m. Come hang out after school and play video games. Ages 13 and up welcome.

Children’s 2017 Summer Reading Program

June 20-Aug. 17 “Build A Better World!” Sign up at the Library, receive your reading log. Read three books, fill in your reading log. Bring your reading log to the library and receive your book bag. Every time you read five books bring your reading log to the library and get a prize. Limit 150 books read. The entire children’s summer reading program is generously sponsored by the Ocean Shores Friends of the Library.

INSECT SAFARI with Don Ehlen

July 20 — See more than 2,100 preserved insect specimens from around the world — dazzling butterflies and moths, fascinating shaped beetles, grasshoppers, bees and more. Where do bugs come from? What do bugs eat? View 4 huge displays of preserved bugs. Then view live bugs up close, don’t miss this program!

Teen Summer Reading Party

Friday July 14 6-9 p.m. — All local students that are going to be in 7-12 grade in September, are invited to sign up for the Teen Summer Reading Program. All 7-12 grade teens are invited to attend party@the library. There will be karaoke, Just Dance for the WII U, delicious food and drinks, and party favors. The Teen Summer Reading Program is supported by the Friends of the Library. The Summer Reading Program is a great way to keep teens reading all summer. For every 250 pages read, teens will get a prize. When they have read 500 they are eligible to attend a Finale Party in August. When they reach 1,000 pages they can enter the grand drawing for prizes from local businesses at the finale.

Adult Summer Reading Program

June 20-Aug. 17 “Build A Better World!”

Sponsored by the Ocean Shores Friends of the Library. Sign-up (bring two current canned items for the OS Food Bank) and receive your reading log. Read three books, list them on your reading log. Visit the Library and receive your bag. For every three books read, enter a drawing for terrific prizes. Drawing will be on Aug. 18. Monday July 24, 3 p.m. Each month we discuss healthy weight loss and how hypnosis works. Then Michael successfully guides you into hypnosis to give you the motivation to change.
