Demolition of the Silver King Motel at the southern end of Ocean Shores entered its final phase Monday morning, March 6, as heavy equipment began tearing down the decaying structure.

Owned by the Quinault Nation and located between Damon Point and the Coastal Interpretive Center at 1070 Discovery Avenue in Ocean Shores, the 54-unit building has been closed since 2009.

Tribal officials have not said what the future of the property will be.

Tom Mail, camp host for the Quinault Marina and RV Park, said the project began three weeks ago and is expected to be complete by week’s end. Demolition is being performed by Anderson Environmental Contracting of Kelso, WA.
