Wearable Art Show’s

community success

The Producers of the Ocean Shores Wearable Art Show would like to thank all of the people who attended the Show on Saturday, June 2. We are especially thankful for such an good turn-out because proceeds from this show will go to help fund Stage West Community Theatre’s summer theatre camp for our north beach youth. Of course, we can’t put on a show without the fantastic and fabulous creations brought to us by all of the Artists and Models involved. This year’s show featured 24 wearable creations that were both thought provoking and entertaining. Again, about a third of the audience was from out of town which helps to meet our goal of providing a quality show to help make Ocean Shores a destination choice for visitors. Finally, but never last or least, a huge Thanks to the staff at the Ocean Shores Conventions Center and our show Volunteers that helped put up the staging, set and run the lights, set up and run the sound, plan and edit all of the music, decorate the entry, take tickets, supply photography and video services and manage all of the backstage matters during the show. A special thanks to this year’s Emcee, Cheryl Turner, for keeping the energy level high and guiding us through the show. Photos of the show may be seen on our website at: www.oswearableart.com or find us on Facebook. Stay tuned for information regarding next year’s show because we need Artists to participate in order for the show to happen again!

Green Lantern Lunches

As the Green Lantern Lunch Program winds down its winter program and gets ready to begin the summer season, we would like to thank everyone for their support and donations. As of the end of this week we will have delivered 19,819 lunches to the kids on the program. The forms for the summer program have come back from the schools and we will begin those deliveries on Monday, the 18th of June. We will be delivering thru the last week in August and are looking at a very busy summer schedule. We will be packing and delivering on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Anyone interested in helping out , please give us a call. We will also be helping out the summer kids program in Ocean Shores with lunches. It is remarkable to see what a small community can do when it comes together to meet a need. Again, thanks everyone for your help and a Really Big Thank You to our volunteers that make it all happen.
