On the Beach: Savory local dining tips for Christmas

Free dinner at the Senior Center

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is at its peak.

Last minute touches are made to the glowing lights and colorful decorations.

Kitchens are in a flurry with baking sweet treats. Lists being made and lists getting crossed off.

The malls and grocery stores produce a whirlwind of shoppers for those last-minute gifts and dinner necessities.

Is there a special recipe your family asks for every year? Or a dish from a relative you can’t wait to taste?

Our family has a few. Holly’s deviled eggs are the first to get eaten. She does amazing things by adding feta or wasabi, a fun new flavor each year. Heather always does an amazing salad with a freshly made dressing that makes us all feel a little healthier in just a few bites. Gabby’s cheesy rolls are straight from heaven with garlic and cheese and olives.

I used to bake an eggnog pie and cut out little holly leaves and berries from pie crust to decorate it with. My favorite dish to contribute the last few years is wine. I’m really good at wine.

Maybe your tradition is a dinner out with family and friends. No cooking or dishes piling up in the sink. Just time spent together.

Here are some great choices on the beach for sharing a meal this holiday season.
