Kiwanis Kids Christmas Party provides gifts galore

The Kiwanis Kid Christmas party on Saturday at the Ocean Shores Convention Center actually got underway more than an hour ahead of schedule, and the line of kids waiting for the arrival of Santa stretched out the door of the main room where literally thousands of toys were available for the children of North Beach schools.

Organizer Donovan Scott said and there were 353 kids 12 years and younger who participated, along with 91 teens who later attended the Teen Party, also held at the Convention Center.

“Everything went fairly smooth,” said Scott, who with his wife Pat will now begin to shop and gather toys for next year’s party as soon the post-Christmas close-out sales begin this Dec. 26.
