Event kicks off holiday season

‘Tis the season — already.

With Thanksgiving now behind us and Winter Fanta-Sea bringing Santa back to the beach last Saturday, the calender over the next month has a Christmas thread that unites the many seasonal events into the new year.

New to the schedule this year is the first Festival of Lights at Oyhut Bay.

The public is invited to join Oyhut Bay’s developers, homeowners and resort team on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. for a lighting ceremony featuring a nine-foot Christmas tree and festive holiday decorations. Sing holiday carols and enjoy hot cocoa, sparkling cider and sweet treats.

Oyhut Bay is also holding a toy drive for the Union Gospel Mission and Friendship House in Aberdeen. If you join for the Festival of Lights, please consider bringing a new, unwrapped toy for any age child from baby to teenager. The toy drive will continue through Dec. 18, so come by any time and drop your donation in the Real Estate Office or Vacation Rental Office.

The Festival of Lights is free and will be held at 400 Salmonberry Lane SW. For more information, contact Shari Field, Oyhut Bay event planner, 425.829.2731.
