Library Board opening

Are you passionate about libraries and the role the Ocean Shores Public Library plays in our community? The Ocean Shores Library Board of Trustees is seeking interested local residents to volunteer for an open position on the board. The 5-member board is a governing board with a 5-year term that requires attendance at monthly meetings (second Wednesdays 1 p.m.) and willingness to be an advocate of the library operation for all members of our Ocean Shores Community. AARP Tax Help

Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. AARP tax-Aide offers free tax assistance and preparation of personal income tax returns. Emphasis on low and moderate income, with special attention to those 60 and older. Trained volunteers assist with basic tax forms, including the Earned Income Credit and Child Tax Credit. No appointment necessary.

Story Time

Saturdays: March 9, 16; 10:30-11 a.m. Books, rhymes, interactive stories, songs and fun. Ages birth-5. Presented by Niko.

Friends of the Library Book Sale

Friday March 8, 2-5 p.m., Saturday March 9, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friends of the Library members only pre-sale, 1-2 p.m. March 8 ( must have current FOL membership card) Books of all genres available for purchase. Most at 2/$1. Proceeds support library programs for all ages. There is an ongoing, honor system book sale during all library open hours in the library meeting room.

Kid’s Extravaganza

Saturday March 23, 1-2 p.m. Fandom Day. Superheroes, villains, and fans unite! Bring your friends, grab your costume and come to the Library to have fun with your favorite characters from different worlds.

Family Movie Day

Saturday March 23, 1-2 p.m. Ralph Breaks the Internet. Movies are shown on the Library’s “big” screen, are free and open to movie lovers of all ages.

Art in the Library

Susan LaMadrid Watercolor & Photography LaMadrid works with watercolor as her medium, uses photography to expand her artistic ideas and works at Mermaid Cove on Art Walk Saturdays. Stop by and watch the building of her coastal art scenes. LaMadrid also offers interesting artistic views of places she’s visited in other parts of the world.

Book A Techie

Need computer help? Need to read a downloadable book? 30-minute face-to-face session. One week advanced registration and a current up-to-date Ocean Shores Library card is required. Appointments will be confirmed and are subject to the Techie’s availability and knowledge. Techie cannot help with hardware problems. Come in to the Library to sign up.
