Lantern Lunch thanks

Burning Bear festival

The Green Lantern Lunch Program would like to thank Ivan and Ramona Hass for involving the program in their Burning Bear Festival held last weekend. We are very thankful for the donation received from this event. It is another example of the Community Unity which is so important to keep our lunch program running. As of this writing, we have delivered over 4,200 lunches on the weekends to the North Beach Area. Thank you for helping to keep the lantern lit and the kids fit.

Library magazines

Sitting comfortably in my recliner, sipping a cup of hot tea, I am contemplating which magazine I should read first. “Time.” “Fortune.” “Bloomberg Business News.” Not magazines I subscribe to, but because of generous Ocean Shores residents, magazines I can read for free. Why? Because our Ocean Shores Public Library has a table where anyone can leave magazines and anyone can pick them up. A bonus. Not only do I have a choice of checking out books, CDs or DVDs, all of which have to be returned in a timely fashion, there’s a choice of free magazines. Return them or not. Generally, I do recycle them. Occasionally they are used in my newest origami paper folding project. Why am I sharing this today? With the hope that the gracious individuals who paid for the subscriptions, then donated them for others to share, are reading this. Thank you, whoever you are! And thank you Ocean Shores library!
