Moclips still flooded
County update, this a.m.:
The Moclips River is over Rt 109/Moclips Hwy at this time!
The County has weathered the storms very well. There were many trees that fell and power outages but the PUD and the County Roads Crews have done a superb job. The PUD restored power in an extremely timely fashion under dangerous conditions and continue to monitor conditions on the street. The County Roads Crews have closed roads, cleared trees, and moved sandbags to areas where flooding has occurred. Both groups are to commended.
Go, PUD, go!
On another miserable night, the PUD restores power after a mere two hours. Three cheers for the bucket brigade!
More of the same
There are concerns for the Satsop & Chehalis Rivers due to the extra snow in the mountains, changing to high rainfall amounts. Grays Harbor Emergency management is keeping an eye on the situation.
Moclips flooding
From the county, 8:53 a.m. today: The Moclips River is over Rt 109/Moclips Hwy at this time!

North Beach still has power, South Beach out
PUD Responds to South Beach Outage
| Thursday, 19 November 2009 | |
|
A tree through a transmission line is the cause of an outage that is impacting approximately 4,300 customers in the South Beach area of Grays Harbor County. The Outage occurred just before 8pm and is impacting the Westport, Grayland and Tokeland areas as well as the Johns River area. Crews have been dispatched to make repairs. Estimated time for restoration of power is approximately midnight. This is an estimate only and, depending on the damage, repairs could take longer. |
There’s this to look forward to:
Advance Power Outage Pool
Winners of Monday night’s contest: Ricki (8:22), Shadow (8:55) Kelly (9:47), Dave (10:18) and Bob (10:32) all tied; power went out at various times. Hopefully, there will be some consistency this afternoon/tonight. As a tiebreaker, guess the time of the outage, and time it comes back on. Note that in the event of a power outage, northcoastnews.com will not be available; I am lobbying for a wind-powered Internet, gigantic Wi-fi blasters and laptop batteries that are recharged by key strokes.
