Thatcher takes State!
Elizabeth Thatcher, the North Beach High junior and budding star, won a State title yesterday in the discus. Thatcher, who led the girls basketball team to the State tournament, also finished second in the shot put and fourth in the pole vault.
Cheresse Weidman, the senior who has had a friendly rivalry with Thatcher all year, took third in the discus and fourth in the shot put. This stand-out senior was second in the State shot in her sophomore year, and won a championship last year.
Sebastian Makinson, a North Beach Senior, took fifth in the 110m hurdles (he was eighth, last year).
