From Maynard Reed, coach of the high school wrestlers:
Sawyer Reed and Robby Patton each went undefeated and took gold in their “round robin” four man weight groups Tuesday, December 29, at North Mason’s Hawkins Memorial Tournament in Belfair. Anthony Tignino and Tyler Reed both tied for second in their groups, and Eric Shepard placed third in his group. The short handed team wrestled well and is showing improvement.
The Hyaks wrestle at their own eighth annual Bash at the Beach Saturday at North Beach High School. Expected teams are Ocosta, Hoquiam, Cascade Christian, Tacoma Baptist, Ballard, Aberdeen JV, Montesano JV, Chief Leschi, and Willapa Harbor. The tournament is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. with finals probably starting at 5 p.m. depending upon speed of tournament.
