OYEHUT — North Beach relied upon its offense and patient hitters to knock off South Bend, 17-2 and 19-6, in a Pacific 2B League doubleheader on Thursday afternoon.

Hannah Avery, who picked up the win in both games in the circle for the Hyaks, drove in seven runs combined, including a grand slam in the first inning. Aaliyah Newton had five hits combined and two RBI and Letty Carcaise four hits and five RBI combined for North Beach (1-1, 2-2).

South Bend (1-1, 2-3) was led by Chloe Sawyer, who drove in two runs and took the losses in the circle, and Alise Rohr’s five hits and two RBI combined.

South Bend travels to Chief Leschi on Monday, while North Beach returns from spring break on April 10 against Chief Leschi at home.
