Ocean Shores resident Glen Eskridge applies the finishing touches on the first painted fire hydrant in the city’s “Adopt a Hydrant” program, that any interested resident can sign up for through June 1 at the OS Fire Station, 585 Pt. Brown Ave. NW. There us a $25 entry fee and all painting designs must be approved. The City’s Beautification Committee is offering $600 in cash prizes for the top three beautifully painted hydrants, with painting to be completed by the hydrants’ adopters by the end of June.
