Shores Fellowship Church celebrates paying off mortgage

On Sunday, Oct. 27, Shores Fellowship Church celebrated paying off the church mortgage.

The mortgage-burning ceremony took place during the morning worship service with Pastor Dick Carlson officiating and Dr. Doug Ross, network leader for the Northwest Assemblies of God, speaking.

The church first opened its doors in 1990, using the vacated room in the back of the Ford Wilgus building (now Las Maracas) next to the Convention Center with the Rev. Wayne Guge as pastor.

In 1993, the Rev. Norm Sorensen became pastor. As the church grew, there was a need for its own facilities. Land was purchased and a new church building erected by the congregation.

Church services are Sundays at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Wednesday at 6 p.m.
