OS Library closed for expansion, but still entertains, educates

The Ocean Shores Public Library may be temporarily closed for its expansion project, but there is still plenty of fun to be found, as well as some basic library services. Pictured above is Professor Phineas Ficklestein, who visited outdoors next to the library on Point Brown Avenue last week, presenting his wild and wacky demonstration of fun and physics. On Thursday Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. Roberto the Magnificent’s Crazy Comedy Stunt Show will entertain and educate. Jeff Evans Magic will visit on Thursday Aug. 8, at 2 p.m. During the closing, the library is offering services at the Ocean Shores Convention Center, Monday and Tuesday from noon-4 p.m., (exception Aug. 6) and at North Beach Junior/Senior High School — Wednesday and Thursday noon-4 p.m. A small selection of new books, magazines and DVDs may be checked out on a first-come basis. Holds and ILL (Inter-Library Loan) will not be available during closure. Book a Techie can be scheduled. PC access is also available at the high school Wednesday and Thursday noon-4 p.m., with a current Ocean Shores Library card required. Printing is available at 25 cents per page. (Photo by Scott D.
