On The Beach: The crisp traditions of fall arrive

On the Beach column by Daniela Werner

September on the beach feels different than the summer in more ways than just the cooler temperatures and leaves changing hues. The tourists are still visiting on the weekends, but for the most part Ocean Shores settles back into small town life. The kids are getting into the back to school routine, which of course includes homework. Fall sports have started and thoughts turn to family gatherings and fall traditions.

At North Beach High School, football, volleyball and cross-country seasons have begun.

For the Hyaks football home opener, the sky was blue, the sun was shining and the air was as crisp as the cheerleader’s new uniforms. Grab that fall sweater and stadium blanket and join in the Friday night small town tradition of cheering on the high school team.
