Where you’ll be staying . . .
. . . if you get sentenced to 30 or more days in jail by Ocean Shores Municipal Court, you’ll win an all-expenses paid trip to:
Wapato City Jail
The Wapato City Jail is a historical monument within itself. The building was erected in 1908, and the jail was built a short time later. Rumor has it that it was built during the same year.
In 1963, or shortly thereafter, the jail doubled in size. This brought the total inmates housed to 44. In 1997, we added another 4 beds to the female cell allowing us to house ten females.
In 2000, we changed the eating arraignments in the jail allowing the inmates to eat in their housing units opening up another housing area. We then added eight beds in that housing area which brings our total capacity to 56 inmates (46 male -10 female). By doing this we were able to rent jail beds to small agencies that cannot afford the high cost of the county jails.

North Beach girls lose to Willapa Valley
Shooting just 4-for-34 from the 3-point line does in the Lady Hyaks, who fall 47-37 at Willapa Valley. Still, the girls basketball team is 16-2 on the year. They and the rest of the high school will be concentrating on finals this week. Next game is one week from Thursday.
The boys basketball team defeated Willapa Valley in overtime, last night.

Steve Hill’s busy day at the beach
Extreme close up of a bird (???anyone identify this one), nice shot of a “Golden Eagle” (a commenter says it’s an immature Bald Eagle, not a “Golden”) and a baby seal . . . all in one day, for Steve Hill:
