PAC meets today at 3 p.m.
Those curious about the process of how Ocean Shores spends $250,000 or so a year on advertising (note: the money comes from Hotel/Motel tax revenues, not the General Fund) may attend the Promotions Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting, today at 3 p.m. at the Convention Center. Ken Mercer, of the Convention Center, and Jack Frost, of ad agency Howard & Frost, lead the meetings. Here are the minutes from the last meeting:OS_PAC_Minutes6.15.10

Crime Reports
At crimereports.com, typing in “98569″ gets you this, which shows various crimes on the edges of Ocean Shores, reported by the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Dept. Looks like it was a busy weekend, with several thefts in the Ocean City, Hogan’s Corner and Pacific Beach areas . . . The Ocean Shores Police Department is not a part of crimereports.com. Deputy Chief Russ Fitts says “we don’t have money in the budget right now for it.”
Daily World hot new site
The revamped (and amped) Daily World site has some great new features.
Check out: the gallery by the excellent photographer MacLeod Pappidas; crime report; local news and much more . . .
Final warning re Comments Policy
It’s ok to be “crabby,” in a general way, but anyone who repeatedly violates the Comments Policy, especially by making personal attacks, will have to find another place to post.

A water supply must be near by
A ring of metal, stone, or brick at least 8 inches above the ground around the fire pit.
Boy, Baby Bird, Barrow
From Becky Baker: I was at the copalis beach church today and saw this young man, Isiah Richards with his little friend, a baby bird! the little thing was content to perch itself on the wheel barrow and allow Isiah to rock him back and forth. it was the sweetest thing!

The Grays Harbor County Fire Marshall has issued a burn ban effective July 15, 2010 at 12:01 am.
