Lady Hyaks win again, ranked No. 7 in state
Big home win for the North Beach girls, 57-36 over Ocosta. This fit the usual game plan, with the Lady Hyaks – now 15-1 on the year – moving the ball and playing tough defense, eventually breaking open a close game by forcing turnovers. Iyah Bastian and Dramikha Skaar each had 14 points, with Wakeena DeLaCruz adding 11. Coach Bretty Mackey’s athletic team hosts Raymond on Saturday night (tipoff around 7). “Big game,” said Mackey, Friday morning. The last meeting between the two was a close game, with North Beach winning by three, at Raymond.
North Beach is now ranked No. 7 in the state, in the Associated Press poll of sportswriters:
