“Northwest Backroads” on Ocean Shores
The episode on Ocean Shores (Collins Inn, horseback riding, etc.) aired this weekend. Anyone see it and agree with the early rave reviews?

Just like the horses on the beach, Location Location Location. If it was allowed at North Bay Park in the form of a stand and the equipment, then you would need permission from the city to have the enterpise on city property. So, a franchise would be the way to facilitate that. Consistently, the previous paddle boat business had to deal with the poor condition of the Grand Canal. The Electric Boat has to deal with the same issue. That is why they are treating the waterway between the lake and Grand Canal this year again. However, at the park there is less of that issue. It is free to people who have the equipment. Tourist don’t always carry their kayak, sunfish, paddle boat, or other non-motorized equipment with them. It is another opportunity to enjoy Ocean Shores. Just like they rent the scooters and surfboards.
Why would the City even try to FRANCHISE something the private sector has not been able to do consistently. Besides, why would anyone pay a franchise fee for something that is free?
Fun to watch the things available here. It was strange though to see some things that were filmed elsewhere included. Are those “sail carts” legal here? Those would be an attraction during the summer in the no drive areas of the beach. Maybe an area like the “off lead dog area”. The best part is that it showed the lakes. When will the city get a franchisee to bring kayaks, paddle boats, sailfish, sabots, paddle boards, and other non-motorized equipment to the North Bay Park so people can better utilize the other Ocean Shores. Now there is an opportunity!
Very well done and much more than what we expected.
Very well done program. Makes me want to move there…and I already live here.
We saw it. It was okay. Fun to see our local goodies on TV. It was okay.
