My email to the City, re water
Sent Tuesday, 11 a.m., to Miles Beach, City of Ocean Shores water superintendent. No response, as of this writing: Miles, please provide the results of the state testing on the new water system that you mentioned, last night. Also, please clarify your comments on the water that is now being used. Is it safe to drink? What causes the bad smell/taste in it?
**Update: I had the wrong email address for Miles, so hope to get the answers now soon.

Show me the state/federal report.
I think they answered the safe to drink question at council. It is just “reservoir” water. It smells because of the HYDROGEN SULFIDE AND SULFUR BACTERIA in our water. There also was ammonia in the deep wells. All things that caused issues with getting the Chlorine levels high enough. Water also gets stale. You can drink it, but it is not the most pleasant taste or smell.
Does anyone really think that if there were a danger, Miles Beach or anyone else would do nothing? Sure the water is smelly and rusty, but I seriously doubt there is any health hazard..
To the mayor:
Don’t you have an obligation to provide information to the citizens that may have an effect on their well being?
If you withhold the information, and it is detrimental to the public or you are not in compliance with State and/or Federal law, you and the other employees involved are really puting your selves at risk. Think about it.
