if there is anything i can do to help, let me know! as a retired floral designer, i did all the flowers for the girls and guys, in silks of course but they turned out nice and the girls had a nice little keepsake from prom!
In response to Cuties comment about helping boys, you are absolutley right! I am part of OFG and we plan to start helping young men get what they need for Prom. We plan to do that for next years Prom and all the Prom’s after. The reason we didn’t do it this year is because we are a brand new group. We began OFG about a year ago and we needed to set up a non-profit and get enough dresses and such together to pull off our goal this year. To be honest, none of us had done anything like this before and we didn’t know what to expect. We felt we should do a little bit, and do it really well, learning along the way so we could get a good idea of what we were doing, then expand. It has always been our goal to help all young people in our community go to Prom and with the success and generosity shown to us from the community this year we know we can now expand our goals and do it well. Thank you so much for the comment and for being a great Mom and helping some young people go to Prom. Please look us up for next years Prom. Thank you again.
I know a ton of work went in to making Operation Fairy Godmother come to life. Some really wonderful people spent a lot of time, energy, and finances to get it going and I applaud them all! Thank you for the spot of sunshine in our community
having just got 3 couples ready for prom, this is a wonderful idea but we cant forget about the guys. my ‘kids’ went to a place in aberdeen for their prom attire and they are all going to look great!
ill be helping the guys get ready since most of them dont know how to tie a tie and then hosting a dinner for the three couples before prom but i have to tell you, on a fixed income/tight budget, it was tough! as a community could do more to help these kids so more could have the once in a life time experience.
