City Council costs going up
From p. 18 of the Proposed 2011 O.S. Budget, City Council total costs:
2008: $61,331
2009: $47,729
2010: $46,957
2011: $71,216
The biggest reason: $15,000 for equipment (a program to take minutes, apparently). The total is a 51% increase, over this year’s budget figure. Even without the $15,000 equipment addition, it would be a 20% increase, 2011 v. 2010.

The new white tablecloths and finest china and silver will be provided. Dinner will be catered to the council. While they do a Tom Jones dinner imitation the audience will watch. Maybe they will throw a few bones towards them.
This is the problem with ALL City Councils & governments: THEY DON’T HEAR THE VOTERS! Hey guys and gals, you only get to spend what you take in. You don’t increase revenues to meet your pork barrel spending addictions. Who will you make up the tax when you’ve driven another 100 residents out?
