Winds picks up tonight
From the County: Strong Wind Gusts Predicted Tonight Through Wednesday. The National Weather Service is predicting strong winds to affect the Central and Northern Washington Coastal areas with sustained winds 22-29 mph, gusting up to 40 mph beginning Monday night and lasting into Wednesday. Due to the significant amount of recent rainfall and the anticipated wind gusts, the probability of downed trees and power lines becomes significant. Associated with the strong winds will be an increase in the size of ocean swells to over 20 feet beginning Monday evening and lasting into late Tuesday.
Grays Harbor County Emergency Management is urging all citizens to be alert for downed trees, limbs and power lines. DO NOT venture near any downed power lines or trees. In the event of a power outage, DO NOT use portable generators or fuel powered space heaters indoors! Learn the warning signs of Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Carbon Monoxide is a colorless and odorless byproduct of combustion from your generators and heaters which is extremely hazardous and could possibly be fatal to your family.
DO NOT TURN YOUR BACK TO THE SEA. Waves will run very far up the beaches and will cause significant erosion and rip tides. Waves will move quickly and be strong enough to sweep a person out to sea. Stay away from rocks and jetties.

Lights have already flickered over here a couple of times tonight.
