The Mayor has been attending the next debacle for Ocean Shores. He has been at the Banks v. Ocean Shores stormdrainage case. See the following to see where the money is going!!! http://dw.courts.wa.gov/index.cfm?fa=home.casesummary&crt_itl_nu=S14&casenumber=03-2-01811-9&searchtype=sName&token=2BCBCA74DE4BDEA8CF7AE84EFDCFFDA5&dt=265EC0D0CDFDC8EDF90C028A830A0DDB&courtClassCode=S&casekey=14412194&courtname=G H CO SUPERIOR
why go to monte to talk with our mayor? dosen’t he either live here or work here? if the answer is no either or both……….get rid of him.
There are people who think that plunder loses all its immorality as soon as it becomes legal. – Frédéric Bastiat
She couldn’t contact Creighton?
So the Mayor shoud have done it?
She went all the way to Montesano to talk to the Mayor to ask him to do something he’s not responsible for?
We all know where Creighton works and it’s a lot closer then Montesano. Why not just go there?
Get real folks. That’s what procedures are for, so screw-ups like these don’t happen.
Just close your eyes and imagine Patrick, Vela, Veitz, Johnson, and Creighton sitting in front of you. Now, just exchange the current council. Lynn, Peggy, Crumpacker, Skewis, Creighton, Broadbent and Jackie. See if you can match the rolls. Alternates? Nothing has changed pretty much.
At the last meeting 9-27-2010 Ms. Farra tried to bring the issue forward and the mayor would not let her but assured her it would be on the next meeting’s agenda. The next meeting the mayor did not even ask for any discussion but quickly ran to a vote with no discussion. This killed the issue.
Ms. Farra tried several times tried to contact Mr. Creighton who is mayor pro temp and responsible for making up the agenda. She got no email or telephone response so she went to the mayor’s office. He was not there administering the city. He was at the Banks lawsuit trial. She had to go to Montesano to talk to the mayor and still it was not put on the agenda.
So what is the problem here Ms. Farra, the mayor or the four male naysaying council members who did not even discuss the issue?
If people want council members to represent them they need to support them when they do otherwise they will have to accept the representation you are getting from your elected naysayers.
True about the Mayor not controling the agenda, but I am sure there are discussions about what is being brought forward. The two do not operate in a vacuum. Creighton should have reviewed the previous council meeting video so he was up to speed on what happened. Then, when he saw the Jackie asked for the agenda item, put it on there. It is obvious that some what this whole thing over with and gone. Then they can move on to trying to create a budget based upon the wishes of staff. You know that the information they will get is only what staff want them to see. It will be the typical generalization without specific spending or productivity goals. Standards and controls will not be evident. We should just adopt last year’s budget and be done with it. It does not matter anyway. It is simply an annual right of passage they do. There is no basis in fact or reality in the document. It is not followed. Just rob Peter again and be done with it.
Creighton wasn’t at that particular meeting and she was told that he would need to be contacted and told to put it on the agenda. (And I believe it is the council members that control the agenda, not the mayor.)
She requested it at the last council meeting. So, does she need to stand on her head and do a dance to get an item added to the next agenda? She was very clear and on the record.
Ms Farra should have requested that it be added to the agenda two weeks ago then everybody would have had advance warning that the subject was going to be discussed and would have come prepared.
Her motion to add it to the already published agenda calls for a vote and it was voted down because other council members weren’t prepared to discuss it. (Except, perhaps, Mr. Broadbent).
In addition to those that are urging the fee be waived, I’m sure there are also citizens that would like to urge that the fee is left where it is. If the fee is waived who’s going to pay for the proceedings? (city attorney, court recorder, hearing examiner, etc. etc.) (They don’t do pro bono for the city.)
Bottom line is it still could be added to the next adgenda and give everyone a level field instead of setting up an ambush.
I don’t understand how come Creighton can add whatever to the council agenda anytime, but he and Crumpacker through roadblocks at Ms Farra????
As the public commentators said we have no citizen representation and are on o our way back to towards the awfully heavy word used “dictatorship”, so is it no wonder the answer is d) Voted against even discussing the idea.
