The hearing
Close to 1,000 attended (the crowd has dwindled down to about 100). A total of approximately 900 written protests were filed.
First, the city made its case. Team LID, left to right: Attorney Art Blauvelt, bond counsel David Thompson, public works director Ken Lanfear, consultant Bob Macaulay.
Glenn Pope, one of the protesters: “I feel the assessment is arbitrary and capricious.”

A picture says a thousand words all right. Exasperation, frustration, indifference and indignation =great pix to commemorate the occasion. Maybe they should be posted in the council chambers/mayor’s office as a warning to future officials.
I left at 12:30 am and they were still going…
Lanfear is around 72 years old. Doesn’t he have to retire?
Will it really matter. Setting this hearing at 6PM was another ploy. After 2 hours of the city speaking the citizens finally had a chance to speak. No wonder it shrunk to 100 people. When did the show end?
why is Ken Lanfear hiding his face?
