The usual time and place: 6 p.m., Convention Center. Curiously, no Street LID-related agenda items. The ultra-light agenda includes: updates on tourism (Ken Mercer), Weatherwax banking (Neil Elridge) and roadside mowing/fresh waterways (Ken Lanfear).

Going through the crossover canal yesterday I can see the weed problem is coming back toward Duck Lake and it won’t be long before it is as bad as ever. I feel sorry for the people west of the crossover canal as I have seen just a little of their canals and it is fast taking over.
The city needs action NOW!
# 6 is of concern to me personnaly. The Bell canal waterways are once again being ‘choked’ off by ‘matting’ weed growth at the surface. Poor kayakers/Canoers can barely raise their paddles without getting a bunch of weeds along with them.
You forgot the last item. The sale of city property:
Old Council Business
9. Request
A Request for City Council to determine the sales price of City property, Lot 28A, Block 10, Division 23, for purchase by the property owner of Lot 28 which was set by Resolution No. 633, at a price of $18,480. The owner has countered with an offer of $2,000, less the $1,320 survey he paid for, resulting in a net offer of $680. How would Council like to proceed?

If that is the case, why are we asking $250K for the old condemned fire house? Should we get $5000 dollars for the Kim Property on Ocean Shores Blvd? How about $1000 for the Permit Center on Point Brown?
Is someone trying to compare this sale to the recent auction of city property for tax and levy liens?
How will we pay for the new Permit Center and other capital improvements if we sell everything the city owns at yard sale prices? What will we have to rebuild in 20 years?
