Bear-foot Bandits at large
“Barefoot Bandit” busted by Bahamans (Seattle Time story here) . . . Here, the Bear-foot Bandits gang members remain “at large” (up to 250 pounds), hitting bird feeders, composters and garbage cans from Rain Street to Marine View. Any recent sightings?

He spent about an hour in my backyard in late June, devouring the trash he dug out of my trash can. He returned last Thursday and knocked the can over before Harbor Disposal got there. It can get aggravating to keep paying for trash pick up that doesn’t get picked up because the bear has spread it all over the yard and street. Are we doing anything about relocating this creature?
If you put a cover on the can you would be “under cover”. However, a remote camera may be safer. I do have some salmon oil that we use on the dog food. That is a little better than the salmon skins. You could stop and have some Crispy Salmon Rolls at Viet Hoa before staking out a good vantage point.
Tom,
You can try my compost gadget instead.
CAC, if you’re suggesting I go “deep cover” . . . . I may be OSPI, but I’m not doing a stakeout in a garbage can full of salmon skin!
bears are creatures of habit. just like humans. get a taste of something good and ya just gotta have it.
Must be some really tasty garbage in there!!! Where are the pictures Tom?
From Joan Baus: The same garbage can has been hit for the 3rd time at the intersection of Mud Hen Loop and Draconis – this morning.
Or for the NCN!
Someone needs to make a Facebook page for the “Bear-foot Bandits”.
