Shot fired at bear up-date
According to Russ Fitts of the OSPD, “there’s nothing to indicate we have an injured animal.” The Huckleberry Court resident said he fired a shot after the bear came toward him in a threatening manner. TheĀ bear ran away after the shot was fired. The man believes he hit the bear in the shoulder, but police and Fish and Wildlife personnel searched the area, and found not blood or other evidence of a wounded animal.
Shortly after the gunshot this morning, someone else called to say they saw a bear swimming across Duck Lake.

I apologize for using bad language and for you having to edit me Tom! Even if it was a comment on mental process and not a truly four letter word….I guess it was name-calling : ) In my defense, the gun scares me worse than the bear.
I think we need to make all the bears reserve officers. That way we would have a whole bunch of smokie the bears and smokie the trooper here for the 4th. They could be both firemen and police officers. Think of the cost savings for the city. If one of them sees you doing something wrong, would you keep doing it with one of them chasing you?
if the bear swam west across the lake that would explain why our Earth Machine compost bin was uprooted during the night
now what about my missing boots? I have lost 2 of them off the decks this spring / summer and unfortunately both of what disappeared were right ones and I really don’t have 2 left feet
yes, no NAME CALLING IS PERMITTED!
watch out, Lorraine, you’re close to getting edited.

From someone who can’t get on here to comment:
1) LEAVE the wildlife alone! 2) What is this person doing discharging a firearm in this area? EDITED
3) Was the bear ‘threatening’ cause the guy was too close or trying to goad it on or taking a picture or what?
4) LEAVE THE WILDLIFE ALONE! Joan Baus
