Council meeting Wednesday, not Monday
Due to a scheduling conflict at the Convention Center conv center June 2010 (remember when part of the justification for the new City Hall was to accommodate council meetings?), next week’s City Council meeting has been switched from Monday to Wednesday at 6 p.m.june 30 agenda

Not much new this week on the agenda. Just he Medicare issue. You know, more money spent on employees while the Cement Surfers go around town with hat in hand to develop something for the youth here. You know that the Public Works building is just around the corner. We will see a rush to build that. I wonder if it will be as big as the Fire House. You know, we need parking fro all those city vehicles that we leave out in the weather at Public Works. Watch those 19 acres disappear. Maybe they should build it behind the Connection and use the concrete from that to build the skate park.
My conspiracy theory is that they moved it to a Wednesday to confuse the regular meeting go-ers . . . REST OF COMMENT EDITED
Mark, I’m all for conspiracy theories, but this one is like a Seattle Mariners pop up (going nowhere).
From Ken Mercer:
“We have 300 people from Olympia here with the Superintendent of Public Instruction for Learning Conference. Starts at 6:30a.m. and runs till Tuesday at 5:00p.m.”
I heard that the reason the council meeting was postponed from Monday to Wednesday was because they couldn’t get the sawdust out of the parking lot by 6 Monday, and they did not want the sawdust tracked into the convention center. Any truth to this Tom?
i think our flounder about should fill in the 6 year plan nicely. why do we need a consultation just to throw away more money? i suggest we modify the city name to “Ocean fee fee fee Shores”
I wonder how long it will take to get the 2nd quarter numbers. That new software should be up and running by now. We were promised that we would have “heads-up dashboard” numbers at the touch of a finger. Maybe some discussion will come forward about where Peter is getting the money from Paul. I wonder how much we will pay in consulting fees for our 6 year transportation plan projects. And if we do not offer Medicare? How much does it cost us? Why now? Are we required by law to offer and pay this? Why are there so many vacancies on boards dealing with the Public Works department? Could it be the way they are treated? Are there no people that want to be rubber stamps for the managment and not allowed to bring forward solutions for our Public Works, Building Permits, and Parks? Makes one wonder.
