Attempted rape, Sunday night

From the Ocean Shores Police Dept.: On June 21, at about 1 a.m., an Ocean Shores resident became the victim of an attempted sexual assault.

The adult female was walking in the downtown area and accepted a ride from two men that she did not know. They drove her to the beach near the Best Western hotel and the passenger attacked her, hitting her and attempting to tear her clothes off. The driver did not actively participate, but did lock the doors so that the victim could not escape. The victim fought back aggressively and the males gave up and let her out of the car.

The suspects are described as Latino males in their early 20s. The passenger was ‘chubby’ and had a scruffy beard and no mustache. The vehicle was a black or dark-colored Honda 4-door, with a light tan interior. The suspects had claimed to be visitors to Ocean Shores, staying in a local motel.
