Anyone hear the AHAB siren?
It was supposed to be the “chimes” signifying a test, but, according to radio station KXRO, by mistake the actual siren was sounded today at noon.

i anyone is really worried about where to go when the big one comes……………go now. just drop your keys in my mail box. i’ll take care of the place for ya.
We were on the beach, south of the Taurus approach. No, didn’t hear it. At home, we have always heard it just fine. I can see the ’siren device’ from my kitchen window. Doesn’t matter. I agree with Gary Iversen…where would I go? Can’t you just visualize what what the one road out would look like?
It would make the roundabout construction look like a simple pavement patch job. All roads may lead to Ocean Shores, but only one road leads out!
Chimes were heard in Ocean City. I heard the siren in Ocean Shores. Visitors asked how to know if it was real? I said it’s noon…so lame.
I guess a lot of people still do not know this happens the first Monday of the month because 911 was getting lots of calls from Ocean Shores and I did not hear the disclaimer just the siren.
But what the hay, where am I gonna go?
Finally I heard that darn thing…maybe this is what it should sound like everytime!
It did not say:
“The following is a test of the siren system. It is only a test. This is a test of the siren warning system. If this had been a real emergency you should tune in to your local radio station or listen to this system for further instructions. This was only a test.”

Great Siren sound. Then the chimes, then the voice. Of course they mentioned Volcanoes too. I think that was a new addition.
very clear in aberdeen – was there for an appt – was expecting to hear the tsunami warning we hear at the beach but nope – person I was with had no idea – I confirmed with her it was noon on first Mon of the month and thought it was routine but yeah – it was a siren -
Oh yes, very loud and clear over here by the airport!
Loud & clear in PB & Moclips.
I didn’t hear it, but my brother did and he was the one still in bed slumbering late! =D
