I only hope they can implement the technology solution correctly. The current curriculum is terrible. The computers are sufficent. The statement made that they need to do the standardized testing by computer is not true. The state has said the voluntary fall online testing was eliminated. See http://wwwk12.wa.us/Assessment/StateTesting/OnlineTesting.aspx The next question should be how they take these tests. Do they do it all at once? One class level at a time? On the same day? Will we need new computers every year to accomodate changes in technology?
Also, if we have a T-1 Video Conferencing system that is only used for Driver’s Education, could not that equipment be used to get qualified instructors to teach remotely many of these classes that our current staff is not qualified to teach? Seems like a wasted asset again.
More parents and residents need to visit the school and ask more questions. Visit for more than sports, theater and awards events. Ask to see what they are learning. Look elsewhere to compare. Is what you are paying for, the highest cost per student in the area, getting you your child the most possible or are you getting “good enough”.
