VERY NICE! We are very proud of our library. Cool.
Fixed income–Research now tells me you are totally correct. My apologies. I should’ve known that the mayor was accepting a handout, because the city couldn’t even find the funds to support maintaining their own building and had to accept a donation. The FOL should be greatly commended for their support of our library. I wonder who is going to maintain the city hall, fire station, convention center and permit center when they need repair? I can’t imagine any movement to create a “friends of the city hall” committee.
Ricki,
I understand the “volunteer section” is under construction.
Rafael,
I think that’s a picture of the friends giving a check TO the mayor for the new siding on the library.
Its interesting to note in the Friends of the Library portion of the website in the “what we do” section, the primary photograph. I didn’t know that our Mayor was such a strong supporter of the library. It seems a little ironic that he is publicly in support of the “friends of the library” but still has it on the record that he plans to close it on April 1. There is nothing like expressing a double standard to your convictions.
It looks great! I wonder if they know there is no link under the volunteer button?
