Beware the tide
Yesterday, a couple hikers and their dog were enjoying a fine walk out to Damon Point . . . and then the tide came in. In danger of being trapped, the used a cell phone to call 911. Police helped them get to safety. Gary Iversen photo:

Oh, wow, I had no idea it got that deep! Guess we’ll need to keep that in mind when we take the hike out there. Thanks Shorewalker.
We were down there Wednesday and at high tide there is quite a lot of water and wave action isolating the the “island”. I certainly wouldn’t want to walk across it, my guess is that it was 2-3 feet deep with strong current. It cutting across right about where the Catala was.
They called 911 because they didn’t want to get wet? It’s not to deep to walk across is it?
Now if I only had a bigger lens……….
