Southall, or South Pole?
It’s not quite the North Pole, but Bob Southall of Ocean Shores has a nice little North Slope of Alaska gig: “I work in Prudhoe Bay for BP at the upstream point of the Trans Alaska Pipe Line. My position is Camp and Security Manager. I am operating 8 camps that house 2000 workers a night. The operation is 185 miles north of the Arctic circle.”
He’ll be back in the Shores to warm up in early January. Meanwhile, I asked if he could send any “cool” photos.
“The picture is when I was doing an inspection on a gas line to one of the camps. It happened to be 45 below zero that day.”
