“Live” Roundabout training
The Friends of the Roundabout will hold “live training” for Roundabout driving. The training session will be held (weather permitting) in the parking lot behind Tully’s, using a scaled version of the Roundabout and approaching streets, drawn in chalk. We are seeking volunteers to play-act various vehicles and drivers. One (1) person to play a Lost Tourist, driving an SUV. Two (2) people to portray two Locals traveling in opposite directions, both hurrying to the IGA. Three (3) people to play teen-agers, heading to the beach with hip hop blasting out of their Jeep. Six (6) people to portray an RV, lumbering down here from Puyallup for the weekend. One (1) person to portray a Police Officer. Two (2) people to act as a North Beach Tow truck. Three (3) people to represent the Citizens of Ocean Shores, standing on the sidelines, saying, “I told ya so!”
We are pleased to have Ron D’Bote, from the Department of Transmigration, will direct us in “walk throughs,” involving various scenarios. Please check back for exact time.
Remember: Don’t drink and drive. It could cause nausea.

Yet again … I am amused at this elementary arguing.
City announces first Maypole Dance along Chance A La Mer from the IGA to the bowling alley May 1, 2010. Funds generated will be used to move PUD services to underground facilities.
The interesting part will be the campers, trucks and trailers as they get to the constricted areas at the entrances and exits of the roundabout. Now we have less lanes going into and out of it than we did in the past. Oh, people will have to yield to traffic in the circulation. They did not obey the rules of the road for a 4 way stop, the first basic rule you learn when starting to drive. Do you really think they will yield now? It still will be a chicken game. Those that hesitate will be lost…
When I was driving through Hoquiam today Eastbound two cars came westbound on the one way street in the wrong direction and luckily nobody had a head on collision.
It is not a matter if it is good for ten or twenty days, it is the one bad day that matters.
I don’t see why they didn’t put in street lights and just have them flashing yellow or red most of the year and only have them go green in the busy times like weekends and summer.
I think today was a pretty good judge of how it was going to work. I was there watching it all day from 10 am thru a little after 5 pm. So that would include the locals and when all the clam diggers were heading down to the beach. Several vehicles were in the round about and making there way through just find with no problem. So keep trying to bring on your arguments and I will shut them down everytime. You big mouths need to realize that this is going to be a nice additions to the city and improve traffic flow at an intersection that was a mess prior to the round about. So once again shut it because you don’t know what you are talking about.
I think most of the “idiots” already know how to use a roundabout, since most of them come from the city.
Ummm, Brock, you’re forgetting something, it ain’t touron season,
how well do you think it will work when the idiots arrive?

I have been watching the round about for the last two days and I have to say that I am right! Traffic is moving very smoothly and no problems. This is with it marked off with a bunch of cones. Just wait and see how much more efficent it will work when it is paved and actually marked. All of you people who were wishing for total disaster with the round about can just shut it because you don’t have a clue what your talking about.
Boston at one time had Charlie on the MTA. Now Ocean Shores may have Charlie on the ROUNDABOUT.
Hilarious. I can’t wait to get my t-shirt.
