It’s beginning to look a lot like . . .
Well, it’s “round,” and it’s “about” (amateur guess-timate) 33% on the way . . .
. . . to looking like this:

I’m guessing the phone pole will be a flag pole…at least I hope.
Where is Flying Cats now?
Oh no….Flying Cats moved? Where did they move to? Haven’t been over since early September. We can’t wait till it’s completed, think we’ll bring some chairs and sit and watch the fun! Free entertainment : )
looks great with toy cars. Some of the camping rigs are longer than that truck and it doesn’t fit very well. One of the biggest headaches in roundabouts is a disappearing lane and YUP, we get one. HOORAY.
That’s the supposed beauty of roundabouts, you don’t have to stop, just yield to any cars already in the circle. This probably the hardest thing for some folks to master. And I wouldn’t count on folks yielding when they should. These will be the same ones that haven’t figured out the protocol of a 4 way stop either.
(Time to tune up the defensive driving skills.)
Shouldn’t they have stop signs going into this thing? All I see are Yield signs.
I heard they had to move some of the curbing back because the fire truck couldn’t make the turns – if this is true (and I am unable to check on snopes.com) then what might it mean for RV and truckers? Telephone pole – they aren’t really going to leave that in the middle are they?
I especially like the new power pole they have added (not in the picture) conveniently place inside the circle. Lookin’ good!
I do seriously think that if people fight it, it will be a mess until they just bow to the inevitable.
Should be interesting… It has always been fun watching people race across Chance from IGA to the Shell and back. Now they have created a more interesting course of action….
Do you seriously think everyone is going to go round in circles to get back to their neighborhoods? Most folks will be doing everything they can to avoid going in circles. I have seen and used a number of round-a-bouts, I have never seen one designed to obstruct the only gas station in town or the only grocery store. Yes I am moaning after the fact! Grumble Grumble
Simple, once you learn the tricks of a round-about. From the Shell station if you want to go East in Chance, take a right (West) on Chance and just circle until you can exit onto East Chance. Same thing if you are going West on Chance and want to turn into IGA. Go past IGA, circle the round-about and then turn right into IGA on your way back to the East.
Basically, you just don’t make left turns other than to circle.
That was not in the drawings they gave out. Just a single lane with arrows pointing left, straight, and right. We shall see how the finally put the lanes down… I still think the center should be a roulette wheel..
Have you tried to turn into IGA from the East side, or exit the Shell station to the East? No wonder Flying cats moved. Hopefully once the equipment is gone you will be able to see the cars coming, but it looks like the best bet will be to wait for all traffic to clear and then make a dash for it. Will definitely need a two way turn lane on East Chance.
Drove through it last night it’s quite large.
