With tied hands, the Ocean Shores Planning Commission approved the proposed site for the new police station at a special meeting Oct 17. The golf course site is meeting much opposition from the public.

City Ballot Measure
Shall the City of Ocean Shores be authorized to continue the tax levy increase approved by the voters in 1996 to allow its regulatory property tax levy to exceed the 106% statutory levy limitation by an amount of 45 cents per thousand.
The Cohos are in at the Ocean Shores Marina. They came a little later than advertized, but finally the Coho Salmon hit the Marina to the delight of fishermen who find something amazing about fish returning each fall in our estuary system.
The fall recreational razor clam season opened Saturday as thousands of people poured onto North Beaches for the earliest tides of the week.

Howard Simpson Washington Fisheries patrolman reported he spotted a 30 foot shark near the Grays Harbor buoy.
The proposed LID for the east side of Ocean Shores peninsula may be dissolved on August 16 if pre payments are not forthcoming before that date.
Thor C. Tollefson Director of Fisheries reminded skin divers that the taking of octopuses (sic) by any device which penetrates or mutilates the body, or any irritant or toxic chemicals, such as Clorox or bluestone is illegal.
