I’m not sure I believe this
Email, yesterday, from a usually-reliable source:
(A friend) just told me that on her way past the Weatherwax property a couple of elderly people with a Pekinese flagged her down and then proceeded to tell her that their hotel told them that there are bears and cougars in the Weatherwax. They then asked where the cages were so they could feed them. Of course she advised them that the animals are not in cages and that they are free and wild. A raccoon then went by and they got scared and got in their car. (The local) then directed them to Damon Point where they could have a nice walk along the shoreline.

Whoa there Sir
I can’t quite invision ripping down a whole rain forest plus animal habitat. I think perhaps you meant bulldoze, however development isn’t always the answer. I seem to recall that there are already a lot of unsold condos sitting empty right here in town. Not the best economic era to tear down trees and put up a parking lot!
As for wanting to see animals I prefer them loose and in their own enviorment not caged. I doubt that any animal or human wants to be caged or we would all fight our way in to prison.
I believe it. Should have ripped that place down and developed a long time ago. What a waste of great development property. Besides want to see an animal go to a zoo.
