Mayor’s Report
For those of you who are not “members” of the Ocean Shores Community Club, and are not privy to their official monthly publication. (Not to brag, but as soon as we bought a house in Ocean Shores, we were “invited” to become members of this exclusive group! )

“Summer has certainly gone by fast, at least for me. The leaves are falling off the trees and fall is in the air.
“. . . The City waited until the end of the summer to start the round-a-bout project to minimize the impact on businesses, tourists and residents.
“We are coordinating the Street LID paving project along with the round-a-bout project, so work is very busy downtown . . . I know this may be inconvenient at times, but we are striving to maintain good traffic flow to the maximum extent possible. When the round-a-bout is completed in early December, the Street LID construction will end also. The financing portion of the Street LID will then begin.
“The new fire station is progressing with all modular units in place. We are hoping for a September or early October opening. The City Council approved the sale of the old fire station for a minimum price of $250,000 by a sealed bid process.
“We have started the 2010 budget process by issuing budget guidance to City departments. I do not anticipate the 2010 budget process to be easy. The City is still dealing with labor costs and overall revenues have not improved, but we will work our way through it.
“There is a lot of positive change taking place in the City. By next spring these projects will be behind us and we will be celebrating our 40th year as an incorporated city.

At the end of your letter you say ” If you have any ideas or suggestions, you can contact me”. I have done this on several occasions. I have given you information to help you with the paving project. I gave you this information last year and then again early this year so you could use it. Mayor you did not use any of it. Why do you ask for input and then not use any of it?
The projects will be behind us in the future but it does not make the incompetence OK. These projects were poorly planned and that is a fact. I see numerous issues that should have been foreseen by a competent person. Why would you grind up both south bound lanes from City entrance to new roundabout months before you need to? By doing this you have made traffic drive over six to eight inch drop offs. I have seen many of these types of issues that should have been addressed in the contract. What they say to me is that very little if any considerations have been given to the City’s businesses or public.
I recommend that you make some changes, raise the bar, and be the leader that the public expects you to be. I do not know what you are being told by your staff but I do know you can see what is going on like the rest of us. When I met with you and wrote to you I said I would be glad to help you in anyway I could and I meant it.

The only celebrating you will be doing is celebrating your salary…which you aren’t close to being worth. Electing you was the worst mistake this city could have done. It makes my sick when I hear/read your updates regarding the city…I have caught you in your lies, deceit, and overall, politican ways. When will you finally admit that you have no idea what you are doing, and that you have worthless subordinates who have no clue on what they are doing? You need to forget your “Navy” days, quit running this town as if it were your ship or base, realize that, “Doing more with less,” isn’t always the best solution and pull your head out of the sand, realizing you are consistantly messing with people’s lives…ie, roads, jobs, taxes, etc..
Quit acting like you are a savior to this city. You are just another politician puppet who lied about what you would do for this city. Are you a cousin of Obama cause you both share the same traits….you are both great at the “Bait and Switch.”
Congrats for nothing.
