Representatives of federal and state agencies as well as Indian interests will be members of a panel to discuss Washington’s Offshore Future tomorrow night in Aberdeen.
The write-in candidate won the primary, but the runner-up remains unphased in the race for position #1 on the Ocean Shores City Council.
Amanda Luck received an award from the Ocean Shores Elks Lodge for outstanding courage and love of family.
The award was given to the 8 year old Ocean Shores girl for saving her 3 year old brother Cory from drowning.

The bodies of a grandfather and his grandson were found after their boat was reported missing on Thursday. The two left Ocean Shores on Wed for a salmon fishing trip the body of the 28 year old Phillip Joyce of Seattle was found near the town of Bay Center, The body of his grandfather was found Saturday morning on the beach at Ocean Shores.
The State Auditor’s Office issued one “finding” against Ocean Shores as a result of its two year audit. Of City finances for 1996-97. Due to delays in the filing of the city’s annual reports to the state, the audit was a year late. September

The Ocean Shores Fire and Emergency Care Department has received a large grant from the US Department of Homeland Security for equipment for the local department and to purchase the backbone of a new county communication system.

Neighbor’s smokehouse erupted into flames.
Firefighters from Grays Harbor Fire District #7 and firefighter/EMTS from Ocean Shores responded to a 23 year old pregnant female in labor Sunday September 19th. They ended up delivering the baby enroute to the hospital.
