September 22 1989
-The North Beach School Board approved the plan to proceed with the site preparation bids while adapting the plans for the new high school.
-Ocean Shores street improvements have taken more time and money than expected according to City Manager Mike Pence. Engineers had recommended a plan for the City to replace 10 miles of road this year, but only 5.2 miles have been completed thus far.
-Ocean Shores may be well on its way towards getting a new police station. When a comprehensive plan for a new station was presented in July, questions were asked over the proposed site. The City Council has suggested that the new station be built on a portion of the golf course across from the current police station. This raised questions on zoning and whether the allotted recreational area could be rezoned for the police station?

The North Coast News won 10 awards in several divisions in the Washington Newspaper Publisher’s Association competition
On Tuesday of last week, Ocean Shores voters soundly rejected a levy for streets in the primary election. On Thursday the City Council voted to place the measure back on the ballot for November.

Interest is accruing at more than a $1,000 a day the judgment against the City of Ocean Shores in the Carrillo class action lawsuit. The City Council hopes to stem the escalating costs by presenting a check to the court to pay the full judgment, estimated at more than $6.6 million.

Aye there be a new port of call in town, with grub and grog enough for all no less and it be called Pirates Cove. Ocean Shores newest pub opened this summer featuring a pirate theme, full bar and good food at a fair price.
It’s here. You’ve probably heard of the “calendar girl”. Well they’ve got the “Calendar Boys”. The calendar you’ve all be waiting for has arrived. All the calendar models and their four footed and feathered friends volunteered to put this calendar together to benefit North Beach Paws in its ongoing programs to aid North Beach animals.
