“Downtown” street paving continues
Don’t know about the logic of doing the two main, commercial arteries of Pt. Brown from the city gates to the roundabout and “hotel row” of Ocean Shores Blvd. at the same time, but it’s continuing this week:
Monday, September 21, 2009
Paving:
- Ocean Shores Boulevard NW – Northbound Lanes
(Between Pt. Brown Avenue and Capstan Street)
- Pt. Brown Avenue – Northbound Lanes
(Between City Gates and Roundabout Project Area)
If you have any questions about the paving project,
please contact the LID Clerk at 289-2754.

Cah they put a toll gate at the city gates? Then we could pay for all of this quicker..
They probably will use the Southbound lanes as two way roads.
Guys, they have to get this done before the rains start. I think they pushed this to the end of the year to get more revenue and now have to do it all while they can.
Someone please if this information is true how the hell do i get out the gate?
Ah yes, the 21st Century City. Large debt and little revenue. No plans to maintain what we just built. Millions more needed to finish what is started. Businesses failing left and right. Increased taxes on a population with little increase if any of their income. Sounds just like the modern city.
No matter what, I think when all is said & done this city will only be enhanced by all the improvements. After December I’m sure that even the worst critics of all projects done in this city might feel just a little pride in how our small 60’s town is evolving into the 21st century.
Note that they are doing the Northbound lanes on both roads. There is no escape from the insanity. That is why Dean is at the Community Club talking. It is at almost the most southerly end of the city. I guess if they can draw them south, they will not know there is an issue in the south. I guess it is time to buy the cellular credit card machines. It is going to be a long time between now and December.
I hope it is not on time like our Fire House. September 30th? Not.
Don’t think any logic was employed. Someone seems to think our prime tourist season was over Sept. 1. Wrong! Insult was added to injury when our phone lines were cut on Friday…..of course small businesses don’t need credit transactions after all it is the ’slow’ season.
