Al Lizakowski “EMS audit”
Al was not permitted to use City equipment to present a Powerpoint last night at City Council. He did give a summary of it (conclusion: don’t raise taxes, just do a better job of collections/hire a professional service).

Could be. However, facts are not tidbits and rumor. Data provided by the city are the facts. Rumors are what are spread when people say that something will happen when we do not have certain taxes. Some of us heard a certain Fire Chief say that we would have to wait two hours for service.
That is only true when we are responding to those 104 out of town calls since January 1, 2009. I guess you want to support all of Grays Harbor County too.
Then we could make the EMS levy 2.00 per thousand. Think, that would only be $400 for a 200K home. That is only $1.09 a day.
However, it does not mean that the EMS service would be here in Ocean Shores to save you. They would be somewhere else in Grays Harbor County.
Do you run your business that way? Do you travel to Taholah for $140.00? That is 30.2 miles and 54 minutes each way. That could be those two hours we would have to wait even for your services.
Geez, where is this going?
Good Grief Alwayswatching!
My post referred to a SPECIFIC NON-EXISTENT “virus” intended to make a point. You absolutly MISSED THE POINT !
And it IS a rumor. The virus I referred to was a comment not a virus.
You are intelligent man, please prove it and READ the original post. ALL OF IT, not just the first sentence.
This action appears to lack the commitment of adhering to the process of government, as it is intended. Breaking a constitutional right to a concerned citizen/property owner seems as tragic as increasing taxes unnecessarily. Fairness to all to have an open conversation is critical in good government. If a mayor takes on the role of City Manager, he should should have a clear understanding of the law and people’s constitutional rights.
Is it time to have an outside party look at the legality of the governmental process in Ocean Shores?
First off it is not a rumor. It is fact that even City Hall realizesthey are susceptible to being infected. . That is why so many operate on emotion and not fact. Oh My God!!!! The world will end when they do not have $261K dollars to spend. Where will they find all that money? It is a King’s Ransom!!! The sky is falling if we do not pass the Lid Lift!!!! The wheels on the fire trucks and ambulances will fall off!! The sea will rush in and swollow up Ocean Shores. Too bad the virus has not hit City Hall. But that would take pigs flying. The institutional walls of blindness envelop the buildings. When corporations find themselves in need of resources, they first look within for them. They seek to maximize efficiency. They look at their infrastructure. They look at there time and motion studies to see if there are savings to be had by changing the process. They look to squeeze vendors. They look to increase productivity within and without. They look for additional revenue streams from services that were previously free. They stop services that do not impact their most loyal customers. They implement Customer Relationship Management. They do not want businesses and citizens to leave because they turn a blind eye to their needs in order to protect the institution. They reallocate resources. They do more than just raise their prices. Look at Hyundai. They kept the price low, but knew that after sale maintenance, parts, and service would be their bread and butter revenue long after the sale.
Alwayswatching…
Please go back and READ my posting. Sarcasm can run a fine line but there was no fine line on that one.
There would be no virus, because only the projector would have been used. Al had his own computer. The projector is basically like your computer screen. It was just a way of making it an additional burden to overcome to exercise his free speech rights. I guess we have to be satisfied that they allow us to speak at all. You do know that there is no law requiring public comment. The bottom line is that the Lid Lift is written to confuse the issue. It is just additional money to spend more elsewhere. Just throw more money at the problems and do not resolve them. Maybe it is time for a Citizen oversight commission beyond the council. Police, Public Works and Fire Commission.
I’m sure they were concerned Al would be infecting the PC used for the presentation.
You all know about the dreaded “Rational and complete explanation of a problem” virus that is rumored to be spreading everywhere except City Hall.
City equipment that was paid for by whom?
Gee, could it be us, the taxpayers?
What was the reasoning?
You go Al!
Just what kind of horse manure is that – not letting a citizen use equipment that was available? City Council should be proud of this one!
