Don Wise, manager of the Gitchee Gumee Motel, announced Friday that he is withdrawing from the election for Ocean Shores City Council. He is leaving the city this fall. He said that he no longer feels he can run for City Council when his future plans are undecided.
Ocean Shores Pharmacy features a friendly face in a new atmosphere. For seven years Doug Merrill operated his pharmacy at Dick’s Shop Rite. July 31st he made the move to Driftwood Mall.
Five trailers parked at American Adventure Land in Ocean City were broken into some time Thursday according to reports to the Sheriff’s office. The owners were not sure if anything had been stolen or damaged when they reported the break in Friday. Owners were from Bremerton, Shelton, Tenino, Hoquium,and Ocean City.

The Quinault Indian Nation has sold $35 million in bonds to build the Quinault Resort and Casino at Hogans Corner. Already under construction the complex will boast a 159 room hotel, 16,000 square foot casino and a 12,800 square foot convention center. The completed project is expected to cost close to 50 million.
US West says it is working to correct a problem that has left Ocean Shores and parts of the North Beach without telephone service outside the immediate area, including 911 service for brief periods over the last two weeks.
Wet summer weather has been a bonus for the Interpretive Center’s visitors count. By August 20 6070 people were logged into the building.
