Bear scat photo
Apologies: this is a little (to say the least) gross, but as Bob DeBuhr points out, “it’s natural.” And, if you see something like this when you’re out hiking, it’s helpful to know what it means: BEAR NEAR!
Sgt. Matt Nixon of the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife says the bears are out there filling up on berries and other edibles, in preparation for the winter. Bob’s photo is near the Interpretive Center.

I found the twin to this photo in my yard this morning. Hassalo Ave on the Bayou canal.
blueberries,blackberries and huckleberries with something else mixed in……yum yum!
