Lions getting trashed on Saturday
In a good way:
The Ocean Shores Lions Club hosts an event entitled: Lions go Green “FREE FAMILY FUN” on Saturday, August 1st at the Harry Thompson Lions Building, 832 Ocean Shores Blvd. NW beginning at 10am. (come for an hour or the whole day.)
The Ocean Shores Lions Parade float (Lions Beach Express) will be transporting people to and from the beach from the Lions Building to pick up litter. The express will be leaving the station with the first passengers at 10am.
Trash will be brought back to the building, sorted and interesting items will be fashioned into a mosaic art piece and entered in the Beachcombers Fun Fair in March. Please bring gloves, if you are going to pick up trash.
Two bicycles will be raffled for tickets selling for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The Lions will be selling hamburgers and hotdogs cooked in the picnic shelter on the grounds of the Lions Park. All moneys collected will go toward playground equipment for the Lions Park.
Craft tables for children will be provided. The table themes will include: Preschool, Animals of the Sea, Trash Art, Emergency Management for Kids, Games & Puzzles and Etc. The vendors and organizations that will be partnering with us are: Schwans Truck, the Interpretive Center, Quake Emergency Equipment Lions, North Beach Senior Resource Center and the Police Department and Fire Department.
Outdoor games with prizes for kids will be available.
This is a community multipurpose event acquainting all ages with emergency preparedness, acquainting our neighbors and visitors with Lions and what our mission is and to kick-off our fundraising campaign on Lions Park renovations.
