You might want to consider that we soon will be converting the temporary bonds for the LID into the permanent bonds that are very interest sensitive. The more reserves we have, the higher the bond rating and thus lower interest rate. Debt ratios and our ability to support the debt also are important ratios. We had a lower General Fund because we were stealing from the Utility Funds through false assumptions. Those assumptions came home to bite us in the rear and now we have to realize that based upon our legal ability to charge the residents taxes we must support ourselves. We will soon hear about levies for Fire and EMS. We will hear about EMS Utility creation too. All ways to get more money. We need to offer to everyone what we can afford without driving people and businesses out of town. Look at New York when they tried to do that. Everyone left to other states to avoid the taxes. Only when New York cut those taxes did businesses and citizens return. Wait until we have to support the Convention Center out of the General Fund. That day is soon too.

Did you ever stop to think what your life style would be like without the general fund? I would hardly think that Mayor Bunkers is padding the general fund when it is so sorely depleted. Although you were in the service yourself I find it quite disrespectful to call members of the service Robots. By your criteria anyone who takes direction from a superior is a robot.Unless they are self employeed. I guess that makes a nation of robots!

Tired of Bunkers game already. He is using Article 14, T-89 plan. His lay-offs have nothing to do with our city being in trouble. Bunkers was in the service....he is a robot. All he is doing is reducing the force to pad the general fund. Here is the link to what he's doing.

What you won't read in this link is that basically, less folks, more work is the way to go. Both Bunkers and I were victims of this program while in the service. He is following it to the "T."

Happy 4th.
