North Beach golfers doing well

Yesterday on their home turf, the Ocean Shores Golf Course, several North Beach High golfers stayed right in the thick on contention at the District Tournament. While Northwest Christian’s Nick Mattox blazed to an 81, North Beach’s Derek Frigaard-Moore’s 91 was the third-best score of the day, with Dustin Zander at 92, followed by Cody James’ 95. The top 16 move on to the State Tournament.

North Beach girls Amy Mayhew (122), Christine You (125) and Carly Bouma (127) are in contention, as the top seven girls make States. The second and final round for boys and girls takes place here on Wednesday, starting at 11 a.m.
