Ocean Shores City Council accepted a bid from Korsono Construction Co. for the new Public Works building to be constructed on Ocean Lake Way.
The KCM Engineering firm has recommended the City modify ordinances for upscale sewer hookup fees for business and commercial properties and retain the right to reevaluate Ocean Shores residential base hookup fees.
Seattle developers have proposed a 31 lot subdivision to be built on 52 acres of ocean front property. A major portion of the property is wet land and currently covered with pond water, according to a preliminary review by the county environmental department.

On Saturday April 24, some 200 local volunteers rolled up their sleeves and went to work repairing 8 homes across the county thanks to “Christmas in April.”
On Saturday evening April 24, Sidra Hines of Ocean Shores was named North Beach Junior Miss 1999. Sidra was awarded a $400 scholarship (provided by the Ocean Shores Firefighters Association) and entry into the 1999 Washington Junior Miss program later in the year
Ocean Shores Police Chief Mike Wilson shared a moment of silence with his officers for Lt. Jim Davis, who died 1 year ago during a surf rescue attempt at the North Jetty.

Known to pilots nationwide as the only beach airport in the US,. Copalis Beach State Airport is open only at low tide and is a popular destination for pilots often as a novelty.
The city of Ocean Shores is currently negotiating union contracts with all four of its bargaining units, Public Works, Clerks, and Police and Fire. Two of the units are entering into mediation after six months of negotiation.
Ocean Shores’ very own stunt kite team has returned fro the World Cup of kites victorious. Team Cutting Edge took 3rd place in the 2004 World Sport Kite Championships held in Berck France.
